Behavioural Advice

Address your cat or dog's behaviours with the expertise of a professional.

Our behavioural advice service aims to help pet owners to understand, resolve and manage behavioural issues displayed by their pets. Problematic behaviours may be related to anxiety, aggression, fearfulness, destructiveness, excessive barking, inappropriate toileting and so on. This service can also be helpful for new pet owners who would like advice about the first few months of sharing their home with their new furry companion.

What is the role of the animal behaviourist?

The role of the animal behaviourist is to work closely with the owners to evaluate their pet’s behaviour, identify underlying factors that may be at the root of the problem, and propose solutions and strategies to resolve the issue.

How do the behavioural advice sessions work?

Sessions will vary according to the needs of both the pet and the owner. A single session may be all you need to get a few tips and some helpful advice, or several sessions may be required for a full behavioural assessment of your pet. In this case, the behaviourist will start by making an assessment to help diagnose and understand the reasons behind certain behaviours. They will then work with you to develop an action plan with a view to modifying your pet’s undesirable behaviours. The behaviourist can also provide information about best practices to adopt with your pet. This will help you to understand your pet’s needs and signals, learn appropriate management techniques and strengthen the positive relationship between you and your pet.
