Ultrasound and X-ray Services

Contact our team to schedule your pet's next diagnostic check-up.

At the Clinique Vétérinaire Plateau Mont-Royal, we offer ultrasound and X-ray services to build an accurate and complete picture of your pet’s health. These advanced imaging tools allow us to see the internal structures inside your pet’s body and to quickly identify potential problems, which is essential in order to create an effective treatment plan.

What are ultrasounds used for?

Ultrasound is a noninvasive imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of your pet’s internal organs in real time. This allows us to view the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, intestines and other organs with precise detail, which is especially useful for detecting diseases, masses and anomalies.

What are X-rays used for?

Radiography, which produces X-rays, is used to see your pet’s bones, joints and other internal structures. This is essential to diagnose fractures, dislocations, joint problems, obstructions and many other issues.

How long does it take to get the results of an ultrasound or X-ray?

The results of an ultrasound or X-ray are generally available almost immediately. Our veterinary team will take the time to examine the images carefully and explain the results to you as soon as possible.

Can I be present for my pet’s ultrasound or X-ray?

Of course! We encourage owners to be present when their pet receives an ultrasound or X-ray unless the safety of the owner or the pet may be at risk. Your presence is likely to reassure your pet and may also make the results of the exam easier to understand.
